Yoga as taught in India is a deeply personal and normal, everyday intentional practice of moving of body and breath. I teach hatha, vinyasa and yin sessions as well as facilitate private Integrative Yoga and Movement Sessions which incorporate Authentic Movement as developed my Mary Whitehouse.
I began studying meditation and yoga in 1999 and have spent time in retreat in the traditions of Ven. Thich Naht Hanh and S.N. Goenka as well as in yoga teacher trainings in India, New York City and San Francisco.
My personal practice is informed by a reverence for the teachings of the Buddha, Patanjali, Iyengar, Vinyasa yoga as taught by Patabi Jois as well as Anusara yoga developed by John Friend. I have also been trained in Yin Yoga by Dina Amsterdam. I am currently studying and inspired by the work of YogaRupa Rod Stryker and the ParaYoga methodology.
